About The Community Farm

We are a not for profit project all about the environment, food and most importantly, you and the local community. Together we are going to create a unique model of how food is grown, distributed and even eaten.

Whilst food, and by implication farming, is so clearly a part of everyone's lives and is something that should be celebrated and enjoyed, many of us have lost touch with it's importance and less still are involved in producing it. The world is changing and changing fast. If you are concerned about the future of the planet, the use of finite resources or just more interested in growing your own food - The Community Farm is for you.

Our Background

The Community Farm was started by Luke Hasell, Phil Haughton and Jim Twine. Luke and Jim run a business called The Story Group selling organic beef and lamb to local citizens (through a meat box), restaurants like Bordeaux Quay and Schools like St Christophers.

Phil runs The Better Food Company in Bristol. A company fully committed to organic food and farming, Phil has been growing vegetables for his business for the last seven years.

Through working together Luke, Phil and Jim realised they had a shared vision - to work with people from Bristol and the surrounding area to help play a small part in reshaping the way food is grown, sold and consumed through reconnecting the local community with agriculture.
